We finally arrived at 3am, taking over the Tufenkian Historic Hotel. The team went for practice and meetings. The rest of us are getting our Armenian legs. Opening ceremony is tonight. It will be screened live on Armenian television.

The kit has been smartened up. White shirts, navy shorts, white jacket. Rikki so in love with his, he vowed to wear it forever. I fear that may be possible as it will never decompose. It would have to be destroyed. (Mental note to self).
We are enjoying this narrative immensely. Please keep it coming, with photos please!. The collective fingers of Saltaire are crossed for the English beach volleyball team!

I am loving it too--and definitely endorse the mental note re destruction of the sporting costume (though wouldn't mind a picture of the team in their radioactive green outfits before immolation). Navy shorts and white shirt=uniform, globally. For me, it = NZ coach drivers (shorts demonstrating their faith in better weather than the homeland-despite all evidence to the contrary). Plus short white socks of course. For Adil it = Soviet young communists. Neither seem a desirable fashion precedent to emulate...

As you may have noticed vile green shiny stuff replaced by moderately more tasteful yet still indestructible clothing. Dead dodgy singlets....
